We are working on creating a native HTML5 client for BigBlueButton. This work extends the current BigBlueButton architecture to enable a non-flash user to participate from an HTML5 capable browser.
This work is part of our entry for the Mozilla Ignite Challenge: High Quality Open Source Web Conferencing System.
We’ve created a video that shows a user logging into a BigBlueButton session, doing two-way chat, and receiving updates on the mouse locate and draw events — all from within an HTML5 client (click on the image below to watch the video).
As we expose more of the real-time events in BigBlueButton, we can hook up it’s functionality to an HTLM5 interface. The prototype is still work in progress and not ready yet for others to build and test. We’re working on it!
