Mozilla and National Science Foundation announced today that our submission to Create a High Quality Open Source Web Conferencing Platform was selected as one of the eight winning ideas in the Brainstorm Round for Mozilla Ignite.
As stated on the Mozilla Ignite website, the goal of the challenge is to “support the creation of applications that show how next-generation networks can revolutionize healthcare, education, public safety, energy and more.”
Our winning submission described how we intend to extend BigBlueButton by adding an HTML5 client and high-quality audio and video using WebRTC to provide a robust remote classroom experience and high-quality education for any student equipped with a simple web browser, no matter where they’re located.
Thanks to Mozilla and National Science Foundation for their support of the BigBlueButton project!
