Covid-19 proved what pedagogical research has long shown: passive learning in virtual classrooms doesn’t work. Active learning, active recall, and spaced repetition coupled with real-time feedback are what move the needle on outcomes.

Since 2010, BigBlueButton has been integrated deeply with Moodle.  In this session, you’ll see how far that integration has come. We’ll demonstrate three capabilities that turn Moodle + BigBlueButton into a single, seamless learning platform: (1) two-way analytics that flow between the two systems, giving educators and administrators unified reports to measure engagement; (2) a plugin architecture in BigBlueButton that extends with custom learning activities (think further increasing active learning); and (3) simplification of the display of recordings and reports in Moodle.
